"C'mon, that's not a knife....THAT'S A KNIFE!"
Sadly, this iconic '80s slogan from the first "Croc" film will never again resonate the same way with me. I was a ripe adolescent boy when that movie debuted. Prior to that, my peers and I were assuming the roles of Crockett, Tubs, Zito and Switek during afternoon recess. Suddenly, overnight, everyone wanted to be Crocodile Dundee. Naturally, it didn't take our puberic minds very long to start inserting other nouns (replacing the word "knife") into the catch phrase, especially since SIZE is an obvious contextual attribute of the quote.
When a chimpanzee is the leading candidate for an OSCAR in a film, something is more than slightly amiss. Perhaps a few too many Fosters were consumed by everyone involved, but I have a feeling that the issues contributing to such a miserable piece of cinema go a little deeper than that.
I, anonymous, of sound mind, herein declare that I will never see this film....ever.
